Reckner is also founding director of the Vietnam Center and Archive of Texas Tech University.

After discovering that youths know little about the Vietnam War, he and other individuals formed the center and began teaching freshman Vietnam War at the university.

“Thanks to many donors we now have some 23 million pages of documentation,” he said.
