A student who said she was assaulted outside a Texas Tech residence hall in August made up the story, Texas Tech police said.

The woman claimed to have been assaulted at Murray Hall on Aug. 15. According to a recent Tech police report, she admitted to knowingly making a false report and intentionally making false statements during the investigation.
