Texas Tech Opens 2009 SPICE Cup

The Susan Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence and Texas Tech officials presents the beginning of the SPICE Cup chess tournament.

The tournament will feature six chess grandmasters in it's A Group category. These players have an average rating of 2,631, making it a Category 16 tournament. This is the highest-rated international round robbin tournament held in the U.S.

The tournament will be Saturday, September 19th at 1:00 p.m. in the Matador Room of the Student Union Building on the TTU campus.
