Texas Tech awarded research funds from stimulus

Texas Tech University received approval for funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for several proposals during the past month, and although only one of the proposals was denied, the university still has more than 40 proposals awaiting approval.

The university has collected between $2 million to $2.5 million from the act and has been awarded six out of the seven proposals that have been returned to university officials, said Taylor Eighmy, Tech vice president for research.
