Texas Tech named ''Best in the West'' college

Texas Tech has been named a “Best in the West” college by The Princeton Review, a New York-based company that sells testing and other educational materials.

Tech is featured on the company’s Web site, “2010 Best Colleges: Region by Region.”

The company uses several criteria including asking students to rate their own schools on several issues — from accessibility of their professors to the quality of the campus food — to compile the list, which doesn’t rank universities.

Angelo State University, a component of the Tech System in San Angelo, also made the list.
