Are you the next Edgar Allan Poe or Stephen King? Well, now’s your chance to tell your tale of terror.
It might seem a little early for ghosts, goblins and ghouls, but the Office of Communications and Marketing is getting into the spirit of Halloween and is looking for the creepiest compositions for its annual Spooky Short Stories contest. The winning compositions will be published in the October edition of the Texas Tech Today monthly e-newsletter, just in time for Halloween.
The contest is open to all faculty, staff, students and Texas Tech fans ready to take on the challenge. Submissions will be judged on how much they relate to Texas Tech and/or West Texas, the use of correct grammar, the originality of the piece and overall spookiness. Stories must be no longer than 2000 words and you may submit up to three stories. So fire up your imaginations and get writing.
Email your compositions to Today@ttu.edu. Include your name, email address and major/classification or your job title in your email. Please send the story as an attachment.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, Sept. 30. You will be notified via email if your story is accepted for publication.
