Meanwhile, Barbara Brannon, representing Texas Tech University Press, is trying to find a good home for some of the company's wayward books.
Or as she phrased it, "Some of our books have had a long, hard ride. Others have hung around in the stockade for a while. And others just have not found the right homes yet.
She is referring to a used book sale planned for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 2 at Tech's Student Union on campus.
Brannon added that, "A limited quantity of new books will be available at a special $5 price.
For the most part, however, these books dealing with history, natural history, Texas and/or the Southwest, poetry, literature and regional photography will be pre-owned.
But you cannot beat the price: $2 for paperbacks, $3 for hard cover or $10 for any five books.
