AUSTIN (KXAN) - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Science Foundation teamed up to fund a $10 million project called Vortex 2 .
The project will hopefully answer where some storms form tornadoes and others do not.
Teams from 13 agencies and universities are criss-crossing the central plains looking
for tornadoes through June 13 to conduct their research.
