Car and Bicycle Clinic Prepares Students, Faculty and Staff for Possible Hazards
November 2, 2007
Get your car or bicycle checked out before the holidays.
WHAT: Free car and bicycle care clinic offered by Texas Tech University Parking
WHEN: 2-5 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 7)
WHERE: The C-17 parking lot on the west side of Indiana Avenue across from the School
of Law Building
EVENT: Scott’s Complete Car Care mechanics will perform a free check of all belts,
fluids and tires. Broadway Bikes and Bike Tech experts will do free bike inspections,
brake adjustments, lubrication and offer tire sealant for any slow leaks. The Texas
Tech Police Department will also be on hand to register bicycles.
Parking services personnel will also hand out free hot dogs and soft drinks. Participants
will also be able to register for a free parking permit.
A survey by Road and Travel Magazine at http://www.roadandtravel.com/safetyandsecurity/teensandtots/collegestudentscars.htm
shows that shows college students wished they took better care of their cars. During
the car clinic experts will check fluids and belts to ensure that students, faculty
and staff are ready to travel the roads before the holidays.
University Parking Services sponsors the event three times a year: before the Thanksgiving
holiday, before Spring Break and before the start of the fall semester. Community
members also are welcome to bring their vehicles in for a free check.
