Hutto, Taylor plan for higher education center:Cities, both seeking campus, looking for ways to pay for it.

Taylor and Hutto got a big boost this month when Gov. Rick Perry signed off on legislation allowing Temple College to build a campus in eastern Williamson County.

Now the school must decide where to build it and who will pay for it.

Temple College representatives are also looking for partnerships with other colleges for the center, center Director Chuck McCarter said.

McCarter said Texas Tech University, Tarleton State University and Texas State Technical College in Waco have shown interest in offering classes at the center.
