Noted Author Speaks at Texas Tech

EVENT: Thom Satterlee, author of "Burning Wyclif," will do a reading from his book.
Published by Texas Tech University Press, the book is a series of poems looking at
the life, death and struggles of John Wyclif, an English theologian and early proponent
of reform in the Catholic Church during the 14th century.
The book is a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Award in Poetry, has been named
a 2007 ALA Notable Book and has won the Walt McDonald First-Book Prize in Poetry.
The reading is open to the public. Admission is free, and books will be available
beginning at 7 p.m.
Satterlee is currently an assistant professor of English at Taylor University in Upland,
Indiana. His poetry has appeared in several publications including "Alaska Quarterly,"
"Image" and "Southwest Review."
