EVENT: The Texas Tech University Rawls College of Business Administration announces
the establishment of the $1 million Kent Hance Regents’ Endowed Chair. The endowment
will be used in the area of entrepreneurship.
Hance is a 1965 graduate of Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s in business administration.
He served Lubbock in the Texas state senate from 1974-1978 and in the U.S. Congress
from 1979-1985.
The chair is one of several established under the Regents Faculty Endowment Program.
Gifts of $500,000 are matched with existing university funds to create a named chair.
The program is part of the university’s goal of recruiting and retaining quality faculty
members.
