Go San Angelo – Another book that has some interesting Civil War stories is from Texas Tech University Press titled “The Accidental Historian,” by Monte Akers, an Austin lawyer who has had a romance with history most of his life. He and his wife, Patty, also an attorney, got involved in Civil War re-enactments, and both appeared in major movie productions about the war years, including the acclaimed “Gettysburg.”
