Honour for fabric researcher

The Hindu Business Line – The Textile Association of India is all set to honour Indian born Texas Tech University fabric researcher, Dr Seshadri Ramkumar, for his accomplishments in nonwovens and technical textiles and his collaborative efforts with India in the textile field. The award is to be given away during the 66 {+t} {+h} annual conference of the society at Bangalore on January 28, Mr P R Roy, Director, Fibre2Fashion and President Emeritus, Textile Association (India) said. Dr Ramkumar is best known for creating Fibertect, a decontamination technology, developed in 2005. The process has received a patent and has been validated for use as a low-cost decontamination wipe for the US military. – Our Bureau
