Lubbock Avalanche-Journal - Kent Hance says he'll stay in the job at least until he raises a billion dollars for Tech
A little more than five years into his time as chancellor of the Texas Tech System, Kent Hance says he’ll stay in the job at least until he reaches his goal of raising a billion dollars for his alma mater — one of many goals he has targeted.
“You are the CEO of the system. You’re in charge,” the chancellor said. “You’ve got a president of each component, so you’ve got three presidents that report to you. You’re in charge of making sure they’re running the day-to-day operations right. The other thing at Texas Tech, you’re really in charge of fundraising for all the components. … That’s part of the job description in the Texas Tech System.”
