Texas Tech’s University College, in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), introduces the Human Resource Management Certificate beginning spring 2012.
This program, based on the SHRM Learning System, is designed to provide an overview of the key areas of human resource management for beginners and to provide professional development skills for experts.
“Human resource specialists, such as employee benefits directors and employee relations managers, would greatly benefit from this program,” said Michele Moskos, director of enrollment services at University College. “In addition, training directors and senior managers new to the human resource field, human resource staff members seeking advancement, line managers and supervisors, and accountants and attorneys affiliated with human resource functions and issues, would also find this program enhancing their core skills.”
Besides being a powerful tool to assist HR professionals in preparing for the Professional in Human Resource or Senior Professional in Human Resources certification exams, this program provides professional development for experienced human resource professionals as well as newcomers to the field of HR.
The program is designed to provide a solid foundation for managing the HR challenges of today’s demanding work environment by strengthening individual competencies and productivity. To earn the certificate, one must complete all six mandatory courses and the review (40 hours, 4.0 CEUs).
Costs include a course investment of $1,450, including the SHRM Learning System modules, online learning center, access to the Online Resource Center, instructor handouts and 40 hours of classroom instruction. National or local SHRM members will receive a $100 discount on the registration fee. The fee does not include any certification exam fees. Interested parties need to register by Jan. 3, 2012, to allow time to order course materials.
