Texas Tech recruits students in a variety of ways – including a series of receptions hosted by President Guy Bailey. The receptions, held across the state and other parts of the Southwest, are meant to encourage students to check out what Texas Tech has to offer.
One reception happened at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington where more than 500 prospective students and their families came to get more information about Texas Tech. While at the reception, students met with different academic departments, student organizations and university administrators.
Ethan Logan, managing director for undergraduate admissions, said the receptions serve as an important outreach tool for the university.
“We’re coming out into their community to really reach out to them so future students will know who we are as an institution,” Logan said. “We’re showing them how they can experience something that’s greater than just college and really be a part of the tradition that is Texas Tech University.”
Other upcoming locations for the President’s Reception include:
- San Antonio
- Austin
- Dallas
- Denver, Colo.
- McAllen
- Laredo
- El Paso
