Texas Tech was recognized as one of the top institutions in the nation in preparing their graduate students for the CPA exam.
Texas Tech is one of the best in the nation for preparing graduate students for the CPA exam. For the second straight year, Texas Tech is ranked 12th for CPA exam pass rates among all candidates with advanced degrees in the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) 2010 candidate performance book.
The 2010 book is compiled on the 2009 exams and includes graduates from more than 2,000 colleges and universities nationwide. Also included is commentary on trends in examination participation and success by type of CPA review course.
Linda Nichols, Ernst and Young Professor and director of accounting at Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business, said this ranking can go a long way to explain the success of the MSA program and the students and professors at the university.
“We have the highest pass rate for candidates with advanced degrees among all public institutions of higher education in Texas for 2009,” Nichols said. “This achievement reflects the quality of our faculty and programs as well as the quality and work ethic of our MSA graduates.”
