The Mass Communicator Earns Clarion Award
The magazine received the award from the Association for Women in Communications for best overall internal magazine.

The Mass Communicator is published online three times per year by mass communications students.
The Association for Women in Communications has recognized the summer 2009 issue of the Mass Communicator with a Clarion Award, presented for best overall internal magazine. The publication is produced by the College of Mass Communications.
“The staff has worked hard to produce a quality magazine featuring great artistic and journalistic content,” said Melissa Wofford, the publication’s designer. “I know we are all very proud to have received this award. It’s nice to know our hard work is recognized.”
Clarion Award entries include 100 different categories of communication and include print media, photography and broadcast. The entries were judged against entries of similar size and budget.
The Mass Communicator is written and photographed by mass communications students. Staff that worked on the 2009 issue included Faculty Editor Pete Brewton, Editor Daphne Barahona, Photo Director Amy Boren, Photo Editor Morgan Hall and Wofford. Mass communications students also contributed to the issue.
