Tech grad to jazz up concert celebrating black history

Recording artist and Texas Tech graduate Arlington “Ollie” Jones will be the guest pianist when the Texas Tech School of Music’s Jazz Ensemble I, directed by Stephen Jones, performs in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at the campus’s Hemmle Recital Hall.

The concert is to help celebrate Black History Month.

Texas Tech readies for budget cuts

Faculty travel, equipment upgrades and new employee hiring all sit atop the list of possible cuts to the Texas Tech system’s budget if the state follows through with projected funding reductions.

Tech administrators on Monday submitted a plan to Austin that outlines approximately $29.8 million in possible cuts across the system over the next two years.

Youth Livestock Ambassador Program

Concert to benefit Haiti quake victims

A coalition of Texas Tech fraternities and sororities will host a fundraising concert today to help earthquake victims in Haiti.
