Tech hires Tuberville

Tommy Tuberville (pictured) was hired Saturday by Texas Tech to replace Mike Leach as the Red Raiders’ coach. The school announced the decision in a release and said that Tuberville will be introduced today. Leach was fired last month amid allegations he mistreated a player who suffered a concussion.

Tuberville named to coach Red Raiders

The search is over in Lubbock.

Former Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville has been named the next football coach at Texas Tech, the school announced Saturday.

His deal is for five years and in the range of $2 million a year, a source told ESPN.com’s Chris Low.
