Texas Tech administrators have high hopes for a cancer research group recruited last year from the University of Southern California. They aren’t the only ones paying attention to their work. “Dr. (Pat) Reynolds and Dr. (Barry) Maurer are doing seminal work in the field of cancer therapy,” said John Maris, director of the Center for Childhood Cancer Research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
