Go San Angelo - ASU Hispanic enrollment is up
Written by: Jessica Behnham
For the first time, Angelo State University’s student population is more than 25 percent Hispanic, a goal that puts it on track for significant additional federal funding. ASU President Joseph C. Rallo said achieving Hispanic Serving Institution status was one of the Texas Tech University System’s strategic initiatives. “It was one of my top goals and was rigorously and vigorously enforced by the system,” Rallo said Thursday. “What that does is put ASU in line for receiving several hundreds of thousands of dollars for five years to spend for the benefit of all students.”
