Texas Tech Wind Expert Testifies at House Hearing on Wind and Solar Energy
Hearing will focus on legislation to increase federal funding of wind and solar research.

WHAT: Andy Swift, director of Texas Tech University’s Wind Science and Engineering Research Center, will testify at a U.S. House of Representatives hearing on development of wind and solar energies.
WHEN: 1 p.m. (CDT) Today (July 14)
Swift is available for telephone interviews today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and after 4 p.m.
WHERE: 2318 Rayburn Bldg., Washington, D.C.
EVENT: Swift will speak on wind energy research and development to the Subcommittee on Energy and Environment, a subcommittee of the House Science and Technology Committee.
Other scheduled speakers include Steve Lockard, CEO, TPI Composites and co-chairman of the research and development committee, American Wind Energy Association; Ken Zweibel, director, George Washington University Solar Institute; Nancy Bacon, senior adviser, United Photonics Ovonic and Energy Conversion Devices; and John Saintcross, program manager, Energy and Environmental Markets, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
