The Hindu - Conference on 'technical textile' from July 3
With an aim to create awareness on the technology and marketing of technical textiles and to initiate investments and create a technical textile base in India, a two-day conference would be held here from July 3.
The international event is claimed to be first of its kind that would provide know-how on the products and processes related to technical textiles such as wipes, disposable products and medical textiles, sources in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of T extile Management said here.
Technical textile industry in India is at a very nascent stage, contributing to around five per cent of the overall textile industry. Texas Tech University, USA is partnering with Bangalore- based TecniTex Nonwovens to organise the programme, the sources said. – PTI
