Lubbock Avalanche-Journal - Chambers named new Hero of the Year
The Lubbock Area Foundation announced J.C. Chambers as the 11th recipient of its Hero of the Year Award on Thursday.
The Foundation is an organization that is set up to help Lubbock residents and businesses establish permanent charitable endowments to benefit the area, according to Kathy Stocco, executive director.
Chambers chose the Center for the Study of Addiction and Recovery at Texas Tech as the beneficiary for the endowment in his name.
