I am excited that we are on the leading edge of this sword. I constantly see our people on The Weather Channel, Discovery, and other outlets as they chronicle the race to understand the tornado and I would like to congratulate Tech for securing grants for other types of research. I almost think this shouldn’t be called REsearch, but SEARCH!

This is exciting news!! Im proud to see that Texas Tech is one of 10 Universities taking part in this nationwide project. This goes to show where our Wind Engineering department in collaboration with our Atmospheric Science department ranks in the country. Hopefully this will lead to more exposure and more funding to our incredible Wind Engineering program.

I ran across the Vortex 2 teams in a small town earlier today (I think it was Silverton). Looked like an army of radar trucks and people. They were watching some approaching storm clouds. I could feel the excitement of the teams.
