The Morning News (AR) - Pea Ridge Schools Applying For Tornado Safe Room Grant
Ernst Kiesling, professor of civil engineering at Texas Tech University’s Wind Science and Engineering Research Center, created the safe room concept in 1974.
A tornado safe room should withstand wind of at least 250 mph, Kiesling said.
