TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER
TO ANNOUNCE A COMPREHENSIVE WOMEN’S HEALTH CARE CENTER

LUBBOCK – The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will celebrate the official grand opening of the Southwest OB/GYN Associates at 2 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 8) at Healthpoint, located at 4004 82nd St., Suite A.

The new facility is a comprehensive women’s health care center with services that include prenatal care, well woman exams, treatment of infertility, laparoscopy for gynecologic surgery, urinary incontinence, pelvic relaxation, and menopause management.

Arthur T. Evans, M.D., chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, said the center will provide sophisticated, personalized medical care for women. “We wanted a location in the growing Southwest Lubbock area to provide comprehensive gynecologic and obstetrical care. Our physicians have the knowledge and skills that come from more than 200 years of combined experience as teachers and health care providers for women,” Evans said.

Physicians on staff include Evans, Kellie Flood-Shaffer, M.D.; Dana Phillips, M.D.; Carol K. Felton, M.D.; Cornelia deRiese, M.D.; Christine Aronoff, M.D.; Amy M. Thompson, M.D.; Gary Sutkin, M.D.; and Selman I. Welt, M.D.

The center’s physicians will rotate after-hour calls, which assures patients that one of their practice physicians always is available when needed. University Medical Center is the hospital partner for Southwest OB/GYN Associates.

A Web site, www.swoga.com, is available for research on certain women’s health topics as well and for more information about the center. For more information, contact the Southwest OB/GYN Associates, at (806) 796-8537.
